Bendrigg Activity Weekend 20 to 23 August 2021
For the second year running, the trustees have decided that it is not possible to hold our usual annual residential weekend. Although this is disappointing for everyone, it is important that we are 100% confident that we can run a safe weekend. However, we would like to offer you an amazing opportunity to join other 1Voice families for a weekend of outdoor activities at Bendrigg Lodge in Cumbria.
1Voice Activity Weekend
Bendrigg Lodge
Old Hutton, Kendal, Cumbria, LA8 0NR
20 to 23 August 2021
£150 per person – fully inclusive of accommodation, food and activities.
For those of you who are new to Bendrigg, it is an outdoor activity centre that specialises in delivering high quality activity courses for disabled people. They aim to promote inclusion, encourage independence and build self-confidence through the safe provision of adventurous activities.
You can take part in a number of activities such as climbing, tube slide, zip wire, big swing and archery. Bendrigg has been accredited with the ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark which is the official UK mark to signal that they have worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and have processes in place to maintain cleanliness and social distancing. More information is available on their website at Covid-secure | Bendrigg Trust.
We have secured funding from BBC Children In Need for the weekend which means we are able to heavily subsidise the cost of weekend. However, this means that on this occasion, we have to prioritise families with children and young people under the age of 18.
Booking Deadline – 10am Monday 5 July 2021
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We will do our best to allocate accommodation on the basis of need but this may not always be possible. You will be informed of whether you have successfully got a place by no later than 12pm on Friday 9 July 2021. Your place will be confirmed upon payment in full.
If we still have availability, individuals over 18 will be offered a place on a first come, first served basis and dependent on the availability of suitable accommodation.
We may be able to offer more heavily subsidised places for individuals/families who would not be able to attend the weekend due to financial reasons alone. Please see our Funding Policy for more information and for details of how to apply. If you would like to apply for financial assistance to attend the activity weekend can you please ensure you complete the booking form first, as places are likely to fill up fast?
