National Residential Weekend 2022
4pm Friday 29 July to 1pm Sunday 31 July 2022
Join us for a 1Voice Festival!
Our 2022 National Residential Weekend will take place at Treloar College in Alton, Hampshire, GU34 4GL. Treloar College is a specialised centre for physically disabled children and young people making the weekend accessible for all.
This year we are holding a 1Voice Festival. There will be activities for all levels of communication throughout the weekend.
You can get an idea of what we get up to by watching these videos made at our last two national weekends.
The event is open to residential stays as well as day delegates. As always we welcome new AAC users and their supporters as well as familiar faces. Our national weekend events cater for all ages and all members of the family, as well as assistants, speech and language therapists and other interested professionals.
Parents’ workshops and activities for siblings will run alongside the AAC user workshops.
Please note, although we will have a number of volunteers available to help participation in the workshops, our volunteers are unable to undertake any personal care or give any food or drink to attendees.
In order to ensure that we can offer a high quality of support for those attending, places are strictly limited and you are encouraged to book as soon as possible. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and every attempt will be made to offer you suitable accommodation based on your needs. However, there will be a number of places allocated for new families. In the event that all places are filled, you will be put on a waiting list. We anticipate that demand for the event will be high and unfortunately we may not be able to offer places to everyone this time around.
The price is detailed below. We have amended our pricing structure this year to better reflect the costs involved in running the event. Please note that the prices remain heavily subsidised and the trustees work hard to secure funding for the event.
The trustees are keen to ensure that no one is excluded from the event due to cost alone and there is a small number of more heavily subsidised places available, on a first come first served basis, for families who otherwise would not be able to attend. We would encourage you to get in touch if you are interested in finding out more about how we can help you.
Further information can be found in our Funding Policy which is available to read here.
